I am Brooke Stewart
I love to laugh, dance, create and be inspired.
I was born in Bismarck, North Dakota and for most of my childhood Christmas experiences
I received an art kit from my relatives.
Throughout my K-12 school experience I found rest and security through artistic expression.
Art, creative writing and music were the three classes that, without, I would have felt unrepresented
within school.
I can still remember telling my dad that I wanted to to be a photographer when I began my college
career, but instead I began with intentions of pursuing elementary education. After one semester in college,
I switched my major, to visual arts, after taking a painting class. My second semester I also took a ceramic
course, and I never looked back. Painting has remained a passion of mine within the field of art, but ceramics
has been the one that I have had the opportunity to develop most in.
Since graduating from NDSU in 2011, I have had the opportunity to intern at a local church to explore
the possibility of becoming a Children's Pastor, but through prayer and help from my mentors and parents,
I went back to school at MSUM, Moorhead and graduated with a degree in Art Education. After graduating I
took a job at a local school as their art teacher, and I am loving it.
My heart always wishes my hands were covered in clay or paint or that my feet were dancing or that I was
lying in a field of warm grass while a cool breeze floats by as I stare at the stars. I can't stop dreaming, I never
want to be totally content where I am. I don't love challenges, but I do love who they make me become.
I never want to stop learning, growing and creating.
Psalm 34:5
